07/11/2014

On November 5, at the Pasajes Port Authority, the presentation was given of the first results from the technical analysis of the rail infrastructure and intermodal services for the CFAEFFIPLAT Project to promote the Atlantic Rail Corridor led by the Basque Government and involving the participation of bodies from Ireland, France, and Spain and Portugal.

The technical results presented by the consultants Samarcande Transport and Teirlor Ingenieria were focused on, firstly, the analysis of the infrastructure connection nodes of the fixed sections across the four countries affected, along with current needs and future development projections, and secondly, the study of the current supply of rail, maritime and intermodal services, the demand for freight traffic and the economic cost-benefit impact of the project.

It is envisaged that in the month of December, the results in terms of operational proposals will be presented in Bordeaux, including those for both infrastructure and intermodal services, and as well, a public event will be organised with the economic, social and institutional stakeholders in the Project.
